Fort Ligonier was built in 1758 during the French and Indian War and was never taken by an enemy in its eight years as an active garrison — today it's a living-history museum, and the town around it draws visitors from well outside the county for Fort Ligonier Days every fall.
That tourism means a lot of homes here are on display more than the average property — a well-kept lawn on a street near the Diamond does double duty as curb appeal for the family and for the town's own reputation as a destination.
