A historic canal town where the Conemaugh and Loyalhanna meet to form the Kiskiminetas River.
Saltsburg was built on the salt industry and the Pennsylvania Mainline Canal in the early 1800s, with boatyards, warehouses and a canal lock once running right through town before the railroad took over in the 1860s.
The older riverside housing stock here tends to sit on smaller, established lots, similar in character to other canal-era towns in our service area.
Properties closer to the Kiskiminetas can hold more moisture and see more shade from mature riverside trees than lawns further up from the water.
