Youngwood was founded in 1899 on land owned by farmer John Y. Woods and grew up around a large Pennsylvania Railroad classification yard that gave the town its economic base through the early 20th century.
It's a compact, quiet residential borough today, close enough to Greensburg that we treat it as part of the same regular route.
Like Irwin, Youngwood's small footprint means fairly consistent lot sizes across town, which keeps scheduling simple.
